BLUELAKE GOLF CLUB ANNUAL MEETING

JANUARY 19, 2008, 10:00 AM

AGENDA

CALL MEETING TO ORDER

WELCOME: 2007 Summarization of events at theBlue Lake Golf Club

This has been a busy, very interesting year at Blue Lake Golf Club.

Last year saw the rash of three different burglaries of a golf cart and four battery chargers at the golf club resulting in a replacement cost to the club of $6,481.25.  Insurance covered $2150.00 of that.

Alarm System was installed and the total cost was a minimal $131.00, thanks to the volunteers who installed the system. It is apparently doing its job as there have not been anymore thefts, and may have actually thwarted an attempt at theft within one of the first few nights after its installation.

Memorial Plaque:  The names of Warren Menicke, who started the BLGC MGA Thursday tournaments, and Frank Zimmerman, who contributed much time and effort to the club, were added to the BLGC Memorial Plaque.

In June we started discussion on building a new cart storage building. At that time it was estimated the cost would be approximately $60,000.00.  After being requested to change from packed gravel floor to a concrete floor the cost went to $125,000.00. It was decided to drop the project.  We are still looking into rebuilding the present cart storage barns.

RECAP OF VOLUNTEER SUPPORT:  There are several people we need to thank for the superb job they do for the Club.

Brian Pickens for maintaining the course in such a great shape. His knowledge and dedication to doing his job is what makes the course so great to play on.

And how can we thank all of the volunteers – YOU - that help in so many different ways. Without them where would we be?

Then there are Marc Ramin and Sharon Bowen who run the day-to-day operation of the Pro Shop.

I want to personally thank my fellow Board Members for all they did helping me. There attendance and input on ideas at the meetings is what keeps the club moving forward.

As you can see it's a great group of people who help bring it all together.

We have had a very successful year and will strive to keep things moving forward.

WEB PAGE:  Our special thanks to Bill Curtis who keeps us informed on the Golf Club Website.  He spends many hours updating the website.

MEMBERSHIP REPORT: Charles reported that 140 election ballots for choosing 4 out of 5 candidates as board member were sent to members’ households.  We ended the year at 140 memberships.

FINANCIAL UPDATE:  Bill Murphy

MANAGER’S REPORT:  We ended the year 2007 with 140 members.

We had a total of 12,933 rounds of golf played: 6970 rounds by members and 5963 rounds by green fee players.

The member scramble was held 11 times and members played a total of 300 rounds in the scrambles.

The WGA played 43 times in 2007 for a total of 614 rounds.

The WGA Champion for 2007 is Christine Nicknish.

The MGA played 46 times for a total of 880 rounds.

The MGA Champion for 2007 is Greg Ferguson.:

GREENS KEEPER’S REPORT: The major purchase that was made in 2007 was a new Greens Mower.  The old Tee Box Mower was accumulating too many hours which caused increased maintenance. The mowers were rotated.

MGA REPORT:  Bob Westbrook

WGA REPORT – Sally Lavine

BOARD DINNERS: The board enjoyed hosting three Board dinners.  In March we had a Fiesta Dinner with 72 people attending, In June we had a Hamburger Dinner with 78 people and in September it was a Mexican Dinner with 63 people attending.
