All divots need filling on a regular basis.

Refill the sand containers as needed.

Pick up broken tees on ground.

Brian will worry about the ant hills.

Thanks to all of you for helping maintain the tee boxes. It is greatly appreciated.

Work on the Tee Boxes

Dirt Girl (Christine Nicknish) and Nettie Blair are the workers responsible for sprucing up the walk from the cart path to Number 2 tee box.  These ladies continue to amaze us all.  Take a look.  Landscaping touches are cumulatively beautifying our course and these ladies are to be thanked.  04/20/2009

Cart Shed Repair

This work already is making significant, noticeable strides.  The back walls have been tacked up and the old material has been taken down and hauled away to the burn pile.  A work party Friday AM was called to do the clean up.  We had a good turnout, too.  C.L. Newsome, Mike Cameron, Bart Patterson, Tom and Jerry Robinson, Greg Kepner, Jim Buckingham and your writer Bill Curtis.  Doug even brought his trusty Jeep to haul the debris to the burn pile.

President Bruce Lomax with V.P Doug Miller are into the project and doing great!  Hats off to these guys.

3/23/09 The cart sheds are getting a re-do.  As mentioned below on Mar 9, brush and trash were cleared from behind the sheds preparatory to a major refurbishing.

More preliminary work has been done.  A mini-project was mounted by Doug Miller and Bob Dering to re-route the electrical conduit now affixed to the rear of the shed and place it inside the sheds.  New siding, soon to replace the back walls, mandated the wiring be re-done.  Thanks to Doug and Bob.

Work Work Work

Monday the 9th work party produced a bunch of eager, hard working guys.  Among the crew were:  Jim Buckingham, Doug Miller, Don Webb, Bruce Lomax, Eddie Wells, Bob Dering, Gary Cassell, Warner Tweed, Greg Kepner, Dennis Watkins, C.L. Newsome, and Bill Curtis.  Larry Meyers helped as well, going to Moe's and bringing hamburgers and fries to the deserving crew.  Contributed use of equipment helped; Jim used his Mule to haul debris, Doug his Jeep.  This undertaking was to prepare for upgrading our cart sheds, a project long overdue, and now because of it, work can proceed in renovating our sheds.  The area had grown over with brush and trees. 3/9/09

More Work

More work is going on.  The Clay valve that regulates the pressure from the water recovery pond has been replaced.  We have some workers you need to know about (especially if you need a valve replaced at your home.)

Here's the roster: Brian Pickens, Mike Williams, Bruce Lomax, Art Greene, and Paul Castiglione.  Art was the brains behind the operation. Bolts had to be drilled out; these were humongus bolts that required special gear.

Art supplied the gear.  Larry Meyers jumped in, making trips to town for supplies.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, the job will be finished if all goes well, whereupon the course can use the cheaper reclaimed water instead of the more expensive lake water.

Don Webb on a separate job site stained the weather-worn benches on the patio.  (Er, we don't mean he sat down on them and stained them.  Tacky of you to think that.  It was a wood stain.)

Thanks, guys.
